Creating space in the home may be achieved by having a minimalist approach to decor.
When moving into a new house, homeowners are presented with a blank canvas on which to make their mark, according to housebuilding specialists George Wimpey. In conjunction with interior design company Connections In Design, the firm has come up with a variety of tips on how to personalise a new home.Inspiration can be found in magazines or by taking samples of fabric in order to find a suitable colour scheme, Pat Nightingale, a spokesperson for Connections In Design, suggested. She added: "One of the most popular trends at the moment is minimalism which is easy to achieve and cost effective. "Keep walls neutral, furniture simple and straight lined and artwork striking and modern. Add splashes of colour with accessories which can be updated easily as fashions and tastes change."George Wimpey housing developments can be found throughout the UK, from Cornwall in the south-west of England to Aberdeen in Scotland. When trying to create more space in the home, why not invest in a storage system to help de-clutter the house?
