Property bargains 'to be had on Margarita Island'

18 April 2008

People looking to purchase a holiday home or investment property in the Caribbean would be wise to look to Margarita Island, where property prices are far lower than those in other Caribbean destinations.

This is the view of the property website Rightmove.co.uk, whose overseas director Justin Figgins believes the mountainous Venezuelan island has much to offer.

"The real attraction is the prices, which are a fraction of what you would pay in Barbados or other popular destinations," he explained.

And he said the island is comparable to other places in the Caribbean in terms of its beautiful scenery and stunning beaches.

He did, however, point out that Margarita Island is not as accessible as other Caribbean islands, but for those looking for a quiet and relaxing destination, this could be perfect.

Margarita Island lies in the Caribbean Sea off the north eastern coast of Venezuela and has a population of around 400,000.

Those looking to keep their belongings safely packed away while they spend time in their Margarita Island property should consider self storage.
