People considering moving or investing abroad may wish to consider Sofia as a possible option, according to one expert.

Emerging Real Estate, a property investment consultancy, has stated that Sofia, capital of the Republic of Bulgaria, is showing a lot of promise.

Deborah Fox, director of the company, commented that areas that are doing particularly well include Lozenetz, Itztok and Doctor's Gardens, since these are the "quality areas" that are attracting attention.

"Sofia is a very buoyant market; there is still a lot of demand and not enough supply at the moment - especially in the really nice areas," she said.

"Any investors who are looking for good capital growth and for rentals, should be looking in the best areas in Sofia," she continued.

House prices in Bulgaria increased by 7.5 per cent in the third quarter of last year, according to the Sofia Echo.

When moving abroad, be sure to invest in a good storage system to cope with the needs of a big move.
