Househunters looking abroad for a new housing opportunity may like to consider Croatia as an option, according to one expert.

Amberlamb, an online resource for overseas property buyers, has highlighted the benefits of moving to the eastern European country.

Rhiannon Davies, director of the company, pointed out that the cost of living is "affordable" and the quality of life "fabulous".

She said: "The pace of life is slower, the climate is more attractive than the British climate for example, and the people are welcoming.

"It is a stunning, beautiful, dramatic and incredibly fascinating country."

Ms Davies stated that it would be conceivable that Croatia eventually becomes a popular retirement destination when it becomes part of the European Union.
