Recent changes in Turkish law have led to a growing number of Britons looking into buying property in the country, either to live or else for a holiday home.
Presently, there are estimated to be around 17,000 Brits living in Turkey, with most attracted by its good weather and more affordable way of life when compared to the UK.
However, that figure is likely to soar on the back of the legislative changes, experts have predicted, while changes to its EU status is also likely to make it more attractive both to property investors and holidaymakers.
Ann Wright, international business development manager at Primelocation.com, explained: "Turkey has grown in popularity in recent years due to changes in the law in 2005 making it easier for foreigners to buy up to 25,000 sq m of real estate for residential or business purposes."
At the same time, the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has revealed that Turkey is the fourth most popular holiday destination in 2008 behind Spain, France and Greece.
Anyone buying a property abroad may also want to invest in a crash pad in the UK and would therefore benefit from the advantages of secure storage.
