Brits in Spain enjoying a lifestyle 'second to none'

17 July 2008

British ex-pats living in Spain enjoy a lifestyle that is "second to none", property experts have claimed.

Coming in a week when a continent-wide quality of life study revealed that the Mediterranean country enjoys 80 per cent more sunshine than the UK, it has been explained that a number of factors make it such a popular draw with Britons.

Cary Johnston a spokesperson for Propertyshowrooms.com, stated: "Quality of life in Spain is second to none. The most obvious is the climate, with around 320 days of sunshine a year. But it's a lot more than that; Spain is very much an 'outdoor' country, which encourages outdoor living, better eating habits, sports activities like golf, paddle tennis and watersports."

This view is supported by figures from a recent report from the Association of International Property Professionals which showed that 25.4 per cent of all Brits moving abroad opt for Spain, making it the number one destination of choice.

For the majority of ex-pats, making use of safe storage in the UK can make it easier to jet back to visit family and friends on a regular basis.
