Leeds stars' parents downsizing their home

01 August 2008

The parents of the Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson are following the example of thousands of other Yorkshire families and opting to downsize their home now that their children have flown the nest.

Geoff and Glynne have lived in the Harrogate home for around a decade after it was passed down from her own parents.

However, they have now chosen to sell up and move to somewhere a little smaller, believing that a home with six bedrooms and its own orchard is too big for just the two of them.

Geoff told the Harrogate Advertiser: "The house has been in Glynne's family since the 1940s and has a lot of fond memories for us all.

"In fact, Ricky was tempted to buy it, but it didn't make sense because he is very Leeds-orientated."

Those families looking to downsize from their homes may benefit from safe storage solutions so that they don't have to throw away all of their offspring's childhood possessions.
