Brits looking to escape the rising prices and disappointing weather of the UK could do worse than look into property in Albania, one expert has advised.
According to recent predictions from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Albania is set to experience the second highest economic growth in the Balkans region over the next 12 months, trailing only Montenegro.
And while just 190 Brits currently live in the country, this number is expected to soar as its potential becomes appreciated, though prices are still sufficiently low to allow buyers to grab themselves a bargain if they act fast.
Matthew Montagu-Pollock, publisher of Global Property Guide, said: "Everywhere, people prefer to live in warm, coastal areas rather than in cold, rainy inland locations.
"Albania is sunny, it is on the coast of mainland Europe, it is beautiful, and it is still cheap."
Anyone wanting to take advantage of Albania's emerging housing market may want to downsize in the UK and buy in the sun, with safe storage likely to be a useful tool in achieving this.
