'I'm off,' says Winstone

02 December 2008

Actor Ray Winstone looks set to emigrate to the US after launching a vicious attack on the land of his birth.

The Beowulf and Indiana Jones star claimed the country had "gone to the dogs", according to Mirror.co.uk.

"It breaks my heart to think about leaving this country but I hate what's been done to it," the 51-year-old said.

"Kids on the streets in gangs with knives, all this lawless behaviour and what are we doing? Nothing.

"I see people going into hospital and coming out worse with MRSA."

According to the website, Winstone also used some unprintable words to describe prime minister Gordon Brown and Conservative leader David Cameron.

Winstone has starred in a string of hit movies over the years including The Chronicles of Narnia and King Arthur.

Those planning to follow in the actor's footsteps may wish to keep a foothold in the UK by investing in safe storage to keep their belongings safe while they are away.
