RM Bidwells explains why many Brits love rural life

26 June 2009

Many people prefer to move to the countryside to escape the hustle and bustle of city life once they have retired, is has been suggested.

In the opinion of RM Bidwells, a company that provides a range of property services across the UK, Brits are attracted to the peace and tranquillity of rural life.

This is especially true for those who are approaching middle age or retirement as they can get away from traffic and noisy neighbours.

Edward Briggs, a partner at RM Bidwells, believes that the larger size of rural properties is also part of their appeal.

Many of the people moving there "will have families or families who have left their home and want a larger house to accommodate them when they return," he explained.

Those thinking of purchasing a property in the countryside would do well to research the prices of homes in the surrounding area before making a decision, according to Ducalian.

When relocating to the countryside, putting some possessions into storage may help to make the process as peaceful as the area you are moving to.
