It seems as though increasing numbers of people in the UK are eager to move home, if recent figures from the property auction sector are anything to go by.
Between May 28th and June 12th, 79 per cent of homes up for sale with Countrywide Property Auctions sold, compared to 49 per cent during the same time in 2008.
Furthermore, 40 per cent of the properties sold went for more than their guide price, compared to an average of seven per cent in the first half of 2009 as a whole.
Mark Tanton, chief auctioneer at Countrywide, said: "The mood has changed and buyers are no longer holding back from investing in property. There has been a large increase in demand for properties at auction this month."
There was more good news for the property market this week, as the Council of Mortgage Lenders revealed that UK lending figures have increased for the fourth consecutive month.
Anyone who has successfully purchased a new home at auction could take advantage of storage facilities to keep their furniture safe and sound when they move.
