British buyers looking for a good return on their investment may wish to consider buying a property in Florida.
Christopher Chadd, head of research at Property Frontiers, said the state "looks like a far more attractive proposition now than 12 months ago".
He noted that Florida's housing market suffered badly during the economic downturn, with prices plummeting last year.
"With the Floridian economy strengthening all the time, there now hasn't been a better time to take advantage of rock bottom real estate prices," Mr Chadd commented.
However, he warned that buyers should be cautious and ensure that the home they wish to purchase does not have any outstanding taxes or homeowners association fees that are owed on it, as these become the responsibility of the new owner.
According to A Place in the Sun, some of the best destinations for property investment this year include Spain, Florida, France and Portugal.
