The fall of property prices in Florida will provide an incentive for British people to move abroad, says one housing expert.
Dan Johnson, director at TheMoveChannel.com, suggested that people will make the move across the Atlantic to invest in the Florida housing market, where prices have fallen "considerably".
He said: "There is still quite a lot of stock and there are still quite a lot of people wanting to sell and that represents a buying opportunity. It has got to be an incentive to go and snatch something up."
'Mr Johnson' added that the reductions provided incredible value for money since ZipRealty reported that sellers across Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach have reduced asking prices by an average of 15 per cent.
The average house in Florida now costs roughly $200,000 (£134,100) - a real bargain according to Mr Johnson.
However, the average US property price stayed level for the three months leading up to February.
People hoping to move abroad may want to consider using self storage facilities.
