Clutter is caused by delayed decisions, according to author and interiors expert Peter Walsh, who explained that the wardrobe is one area where clutter accumulates.
He told the Dallas Morning News that one way to assess what you have in your wardrobe is to turn your clothes back to front and when you have worn something hang it the right way again.
Mr Walsh explains that after doing this for six months it will give you a clear idea of what you actually wear.
Lining up your shoes is another way of seeing just how many pairs you own, he told the news provider, with the bravest people getting rid of a ratio of one to every three pairs.
Giving clothes that have not been worn for some time a rest and setting them to one side was recently championed by Bel Mooney from the Daily Mail.
