Householders who are looking for a way to makeover their home could consider trying out new styles of wallpaper.

Using wallpaper does not just limit decorating to the walls themselves, according to Rosemary Sadez Friedmann in the Seattle Times.

She suggested that the coverings could be used on the ceiling of a room as it is a style that is being increasingly seen in architecture and design magazines.

Doing this could also be a good way to make a high ceiling feel lower in a small room, Ms Sadez Friendmann added.

Another suggestion from the interior designer is to try prints with large patterns in big rooms to create a more intimate feeling despite their size.

Homeowners who want to bring a touch of the outdoors inside were recently advised to try looking to nature for inspiration, according to Colleen Uncao from HomeSense, by using items inspired by plants or coastal life.
