Homeowners looking to give their house a quick spruce up this summer could try de-cluttering.
Systematically tackling each room at a time is the advice suggested by three generations of the women in one family who run the 3G's Clutter Cleaners service.
The trio of de-cluttering experts suggested in an article on wickedlocal.com that people should create three piles of items, split into the categories of keep, throw out and donate.
Paying attention to children's rooms is especially important, the article stated, with two checks each year for unwanted clutter a good way to get rid of excess belongings.
Making sure that you actually get rid of some of the items found during the process is of upmost importance, according to Tammy Livingston, who added that "de-cluttering will improve your home and your mood".
Website ifpress.com also recently reported that using a rainy day to look through belongings for unwanted goods could be a good use of time.
