More people are likely to be renovating their houses in order to make them more energy efficient, it has been suggested.
According to Vernon Pethard, founder of newhomesforsale.co.uk, people are looking at greener ways of living, which is why it is likely that a greater number of homeowners have been looking to make their homes more sustainable.
He said: "Builders are continually researching environmentally friendly ways of construction, better methods of heating, insulating and providing white goods and appliances with the highest possible energy ratings wherever possible."
Yesterday (July 27th), housing minister Grant Shapps also gave an announcement that is likely to boost the energy efficiency of homes.
He revealed that councils and developers could be granted more flexibility in order to meet targets on making sure all new properties are zero carbon from 2016.
The increase in awareness about redoing features in existing properties to reduce the amount of energy lost through poor insulation could encourage homeowners to look into self-storage facilities.
This will let them hold their furniture in a secure vicinity while they renovate their homes.
