Removing clutter 'can give your house a facelift'

30 July 2010

People who want to give their home a makeover can do so by taking out piles of clutter that make rooms look unsightly, according to an industry expert.

Bed and sleep specialist Warren Evans highlighted how people can improve their bedroom significantly by tidying up and giving the area a "lick of paint".

He explained that another method of smartening up a room is to put in a rug, but suggested spending a reasonable amount of money on a bed.

Regarding this styles that are currently en vogue, Mr Evans said: "This year we're seeing a resurgence in using natural, environmentally-friendly materials in the bedroom - wood in particular."

His comments were made following research by Verdict, which showed that the bed and bedroom furniture market is growing, despite problems in other parts of the sector.

Another way that homeowners could remove unneeded clutter from their house is by putting it into storage.
