The number of property buyers looking to purchase a house on the coast has stayed at a sustainable level thought the recession.
While other property markets have struggled, the number of people looking to move to a new home on the coast has stayed consistent, said Peter Halliday, managing director at Waterside Properties.
He explained that while some homes by the sea do attract high prices, it is mainly due to their attractive location and they are susceptible to the influence of supply and demand as much as other regions.
"In a time like the last two years, we have seen no upward pressure on prices for coastal homes, but they are holding their own and they haven't lost substantially either," Mr Halliday said.
The most recent Halifax Seaside Town Quality of Life report found that Sandbanks offers the best value for money properties out of all of the UK's coastal towns.
