De-clutter the home 'to reduce stress'

20 August 2010

Cutting out all the clutter at home could mean that you find you are less stressed than before.

Having too many belongings can clog up your life and de-cluttering could be the ideal way to reduce the pressure by following the ideas of feng shui, the Express Buzz website suggested.

"The area where clutter exists in your home will have a negative influence on you and will block the flow of events pertaining to specific areas in your life," it was noted.

Assessing the reasons why people allow clutter to accumulate in their space, the publication suggested that for many it is because of the time and effort it takes to clear it, while for others it is because of an emotional attachment to their belongings.

Thinking positive before starting to de-clutter could be important for this reason, newspaper the Centre Daily Times recommended.

However, once the excess has been removed, Express Buzz added that homeowners may find they are more relaxed and feel good about their new space.
