People looking at buying property abroad are increasingly considering the attractions of New Zealand.
When questioned about why British people choose to live in the country, Gregg Anderson, general manager of western long haul markets for Tourism New Zealand simply put it down to the lifestyle.
He explained that while most people are still attracted to places with the most employment and business opportunities, such as Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin, others are going in search of a slower pace of life by heading to less populated areas.
"We are also seeing Brits settling in places like the Hawke's Bay and Wanaka," Mr Anderson added, noting that these places have often been visited during a holiday.
According to Lonely Planet, the open-air activities in New Zealand are highly rated by travellers, with bungee-jumping at Kawarau Bridge rated the seventh most popular activity for the outdoor sports fans on the travel guide's site.
