When it comes to de-cluttering, it is often best to find the place where it feels the most overwhelming and work from there.
That is the option of expert Kim Cosentino, who told the Chicago Tribune that the worst place for clutter in many homes is in the bedroom.
However, this may not be as bad as having clutter at work, as she feels this may lead others to doubt your performance ability.
"If you're disorganised, your boss may not have as much confidence in you," Ms Cosentino said.
The article also stated that on top of looking unpleasant, clutter can pose a series of health problems, with depression and lost sleep both liked to having too many items clogging up space around the house.
Before embarking on de-cluttering, the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian recently advised being realistic about how long it would take to carry out the job.
