Giving your home a good de-cluttering this month could help to give it a bright new feeling as the seasons move into autumn.
This time of year is perfect to give the house a clear out, according to expert Beverly Wade.
She told the Daily Express: "Sort out your garage and the loft. It's a good time of year to get rid of gardening equipment that you no longer need.”
Clearing out the wardrobe of old summer clothes can also be a good way to de-clutter and make space as the colder weather begins to set in.
The expert added that by getting rid of any unwanted T-shirts and flip-flops now it will be easier to work out next summer what items are needed to create the perfect holiday wardrobe and stop you from feeling depressed at the sight of old and tired clothing.
Setting goals can help when it comes to a large de-cluttering task, according to the Kennebec Journal, which reported that one writer wanted to create shelf space for all of her books.
