There are some exceptional property bargains available to investors in Europe, according to BuyAssocation.

Paul Collins, editor at the property website, explained that for those who were willing to commit to the market, even in the face of economic stagnation, they would snap up outstanding deals.

"But this has to be tempered with the realisation of additional potential changes that can come along," he added.

"As has been seen in Greece, Italy and Spain, governments can find themselves vulnerable at the ballot box while the economy is weak and the population dissatisfied."

Mr Collins went on to say that pressure from the rest of Europe can "force governments" to make policy decisions that have a direct impact on investors looking to buy overseas.

"For example, buyers may find that buying in certain countries will expose them to the risk of paying higher property taxes in the future as governments seek to boost their income to cover debt repayments," he said.
