Self Storage Insurance

We require that all customers take out and maintain insurance for the duration of any storage contract entered into with us.

Domestic customers

Domestic customers are those who are not acting in a business or trade capacity. They will be required to take out the Safestore Self Storage Policy which is available only through us. The “Insurance Summary Key Facts” of the policy terms and our “Storage Terms & Conditions” are available for you to download below. Conclusion of the insurance will take place when the storage contract is entered into. We believe you will find the terms to be comparable in all material respects to other policies being offered for the storage of goods in similar facilities to ours. Please note that no other policy will be acceptable.

Business Customers

Business customers (customers who are VAT registered) will be able to take out insurance through third parties which we will accept, provided in our judgement the terms of that cover are comparable to the Safestore Self Storage policy in all material respects. We can also arrange cover if requested under the terms of the Safestore Self Storage policy. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

We believe this policy is necessary to manage our risk and potential liability in the event of a serious event at one of our stores.
