Slough Trading Estate welcomes Safestore

09 March 2006

Slough Trading Estate has agreed terms with leading self storage specialist Safestore to develop a new facility on the estate’s Farnham Road frontage.

The new building will open for business this autumn and Safestore will be fitting the building out with 54,000 sq ft (5016.6 m²) of storage space over four floors, to meet the storage demands of both domestic and commercial customers in the area.

“We are delighted to welcome Safestore”, commented Stephen Bailey, Regional Director of Slough Trading Estate, “Their offer will further enrich the diversity and amenity of the Trading Estate. The transaction illustrates that our simplified planning and fast-track delivery is entirely in tune with the prompt property solutions demanded by modern business.”

Safestore has taken a 20 year lease at an initial rental of £212,000, with no breaks and 5 yearly reviews. The name fits well with Slough Trading Estate, which is now one of the safest locations for business in the UK.

Prior to opening this autumn, Slough Trading Estate and Safestore will be holding a charity mystery box raffle. Tickets will be sold for each of the storage units, some of which will contain prizes - with proceeds from the event going to Barnardos.

The new Safestore building will feature a brick and glazed façade, in keeping with the recently developed Trade Park next door. It is part of the ongoing redevelopment of the eastern part of the Trading Estate where modern buildings, available on flexible terms, replace outmoded stock.
