A new Free Pick up service is now available in the Stockport Abbott, Stockport Bryant, ReddishOld Trafford, Cheatham Hill, and Oldham stores.

The service is available for new customers requiring a unit of 25sq ft to 75 sq ft and customers who upgrade storage to a larger unit (minimum 25% increase) and require further goods collecting.

Terms and conditions

  1. Customers agree to pay for a minimum of 4 weeks storage with security deposit and insurance. Contracts must be signed for storage in the normal manner and payments taken BEFORE a Pick Up is arranged.
  2. The service is only available within a 5-mile radius of one the store.
  3. The minimum stay for storage is 8 weeks. Customers wishing to leave before 8 weeks can do so but must pay for 8 weeks using the security deposit where necessary. Normal notice periods apply.
  4. Payments for storage must be on Direct Debit.
  5. The service is for new customers requiring a unit of 25sq ft to 75 sq ft and customers who upgrade storage to a larger unit (minimum 25% increase) and require further goods collecting.
  6. The customer or customer’s representative must be in attendance both at the customer’s home and at the point of unloading at Safestore.
  7. The service offers One Hour Free, which breaks down to 30 minutes at the customer’s home to load and 30 minutes at Safestore to unload. Travelling is not taken into the time factor.
  8. Safestore thereafter charges any time to the customer at £1 per minute. Any chargeable time is calculated, agreed with the customer and paid the same day or charged to next direct debit payment.
  9. The Free Pick Up service cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers Safestore may be making at the time, excepting discounts on pre-payments for 6 or 12 months hire and LPG.
  10. Cancellations or postponements must be advised by a customer 24hrs before the arranged date. Failure to advise of cancellation that results in a vehicle arriving and being turned away, or finding nobody home, will automatically create an £80 cancellation charge which will be deducted from the security deposit already paid.
  11. We are unable to guarantee an exact time of arrival at the customer’s home. However, time slots are as follows: 8.00 to 10.000am, 10.00 to 12.00 and 1.30 – 3.30pm.
  12. Pick Ups from Monday to Friday are free; Saturday Pick Up will incur a premium of £20.
  13. The Safestore Pick Up team will complete a Removal Verification Sheet (that will indicate the time of arrival and departure from the customer’s home, and the time of arrival and completion of unloading at the store. This will be signed by the customer and the Store Manager, who will calculate and process any charges due.
  14. The customer is expected to follow the van from their home to Safestore.
  15. The time stops when the customer goods are unloaded onto the store’s loading bay. Responsibility for moving goods to the storage unit remains with the customer.
  16. The service carries insurance for the customer’s goods whilst in transit. Insurance cover, subject to the terms attached, has been provided by Safestore up to a limit of £5,000, with the customer liable for the first £100 excess.
  17. Please ensure this is sufficient for your requirements. Additional insurance may be purchased by the customer to avoid disappointment in the event of a claim.
  18. Any damage or losses must be reported on the day of the Pick Up. Safestore will not be able to consider claims for loss or damage reported at a later date.
