How to Organise Your Home Office

‘Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.’ A.A. Milne

There are a lot of benefits of working from home; flexibility, no traffic and more time with family but it takes discipline and can be very distracting; with the pull of domestic chores, couriers asking you to sign for parcels from everyone on your street (once they realise you’re home all day) and the well-intentioned friend who doesn’t really get the concept of working from home and continually pop around for a coffee.

It's wise to organise your home office. Having a cluttered desk can also negatively affect your productivity, so to help you focus, it’s really important to keep your dedicated work space at home, whether it’s an office in the garden or a corner of the kitchen as organised and separated as possible. It’s also paramount to try and keep a balance between your personal and professional life.

There is a temptation, you see it in offices all the time, for people to clutter their desks with personal belongings (e.g photographs of their kids, collectible soft toys, or a selection of trainers) according to studies this can negatively impact your productivity.

Hopefully by adopting a few of these Tips for Organising your home office will make your working life more peaceful and productive.
