How Safestore supports Charity
At Safestore Self Storage we support over 140 Charities across our 90 stores nationally. As a company we dedicate one storage unit per store for Charity purposes and as you can imagine there is great demand for these units. The types of charities is very diverse; we are currently working with Animal, Environmental, Health, Education, and Arts& Culture Charities. The charities use the units in different ways, but many use them as a collection point, storage facility and distribution point.
Safestore Kings Cross tarted working with Sense in Dec 2015, who support people who are deafblind and their families. They are currently using the unit as a collection point and raised over £400 in the first month.
‘It works well for the stores as well offering a space where customers can dispose of goods they no longer need. It happens here at Kings Cross on a regular basis and the goods are in good condition or even brand new. Sense take whites, beds, bedding, large pieces of furniture, clothes, books and so on. On condition they are clean, usable and not damaged.’ Tanika, Safestore Kings Cross.
Sense has been supporting the Deafblind for over 60 years and 81p of every pound donated is used to fund charitable activities. Every year they organise 25-week long holidays for a 100 children plus a whole lot more. If you’d like to make a donation please do contact our Kings Cross
