Some of our team are doing the Bear Grylls' Survival Race

Here at Safestore we like to do our fair share when it comes to supporting charities.  Whether it’s donating free storage to our wonderful charity partners, taking part in Macmillan’s upcoming Coffee Morning or abseiling down vast towers, we love getting stuck in.

A small team of Safestore adrenaline junkies are taking their love for fundraising one step further in October, not only raising money for an incredible cause but also pushing their bodies to new physical limits…

They’ll be running the 10km Bear Grylls Survival Race in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support!
 
Macmillan is a fantastic charity that aims to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer and to inspire millions of others to do the same.  There are 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK today, and as more people live longer with their cancer, this number is set to grow to 4 million by 2030. Macmillan provide support to everyone who needs it, to help people affected by cancer feel more in control of their lives. 
 

What does the race entail?

The 10km race comprises of over 35 natural and purpose built obstacles designed to test participants to their physical limits.  But that’s not all this year as Bear and his team have decided to throw in a whopping FOUR Bear Grylls survival challenges.

The survival challenges include a range of activities that Bear and the team believe could help you, if learnt and executed correctly overcome potentially life threatening survival situations.
They will test participants’ strength, agility, targeting, evasion, memory, observation and a variety of other core skills across a variety of survival situations.

Terrifying!
