Donate your old coats and jackets to charity
The biggest coat drive #WrapUpLondon is back this November from the 7
th – 18
th. This year they’re pledging to collect a massive 15,000 coats and redistribute to those in need. It’s a colossal task, all done by volunteers and
Safestore is proud to be involved for the
6th year running.
The number of people in London who are homeless has increased by 127% in the last 5 years and the winter months are the most challenging for those who may be sleeping rough. And as always Londoners came out in force to support a good cause, last year they donated nearly 14,000 coats.
How many coats do you have hanging in your hallway? When is the last time you’ve worn some of them? Are they a bit snug but you’re hoping to get back into them at some point?
We’re all guilty of this but it’s now a great time to go through your wardrobes and find some good quality warm coats which could make a huge difference to someone who is facing the elements this winter.
Where to donate your old coats
On the 7
th-9
th of November coat collections will be taking place in London at a number of dedicated Tube Stations between 7am and 11am (Kings Cross, Liverpool Street, Victoria, London Bridge, Waterloo, Canary Wharf, Highbury & Islington and Euston). The coats will then be transported by K2 to three of our London stores for sorting and redistributing.
This year there is an extra special plea for more men’s coats as there tends to be a higher demand for these.

Coats can also be dropped off at our
Clapham,
Pentonville and
Notting Hill Safestores until the 18
th of November 2016. Our stores are typically open 8 am- 6pm Monday through Saturday with the exception of Thursdays when we are open later till 8pm AND ON Sundays from 10am-4pm.
