6 ways to bring summer into your dining room

6 ways to bring summer into your dining room
BBQ season is upon us but the weather isn’t always predictable in the UK. You can have a lovely afternoon planned with the family and all it takes is one grey cloud to force you inside in a bid to escape the rain. We’ve all been there; burgers and sausages half cooked, salads uncovered and hungry bellies waiting to be filled when a downpour strikes. But rather than let it ruin the day we have a plan…

Summer themed dining room accessories!

Making over your dining room doesn’t need paint rollers and litres of eggshell as there are simple ways you can add vibrant touches to your dining room on summer days you can’t spend in the garden. We scoured notonthehighstreet.com for inspiration and as expected, we were not disappointed!

1.    Grass table runner

Perfect for spring or summer events this table runner is a fab way to bring a bit of green indoors. Partner it with vibrant vases filled with seasonal flowers and you have a chic table setting fit for day times and evenings. The runner pictured below is £25 (+£6.50 delivery) however you may be able to source an offcut from your local gardening centre for less.

3.    Photographic prints

Prints are a lovely way of introducing colour to a room without the expense of painting. You can frame them for a classy look or for a rustic feel, hang prints on twine and mini wooden pegs. Whether it’s summer snaps of your own or artistic prints like these it’ll bring the summer sun indoors.

4.    Bunting

Believe it or not bunting isn’t just for circus tents and you can find some stunning designs online – or make your own! We love this floral design but if you fancy attempting a DIY version you can try out this method on Hobbycraft’s website (don’t forget, you can tailor the materials used based on your own personal taste).
