With storage at the heart of everything we do, it’s little wonder we love upcycling so much! The idea of throwing things away and adding to landfill when they could be turned into something useful and/or decorative is just plain wrong. That's why we’re delighted to highlight the amazing work of Judy Rom from Upcycle That, who specialises in helping us all to find really cool ways to reuse or re-purpose things we already own or things that take our eye in second-hand or charity shops.
Judy's website, Upcycle That
, is a great source of inspiration if you’re looking to reduce your carbon footprint whilst still furnishing your home to a high standard, using things you either already own or find in quirky little shops when you’re out and about in new and interesting ways. Use your own imagination or have a look at some of the terrific ideas on the Upcycle That site, starting with this week's top idea: a suitcase table!
Check out Judy's video on how to create a fabulous table made out of an old, trunk-style suitcase. It’s super easy to make and very stylish, and we think it would make a great addition to any home. Use it as an occasional table, to store games or cards, or even as a makeup table - it’ll not only provide you with really useful additional storage, it’ll also certainly be a talking point for any visitors.
We're sure you can think of plenty of ways to use your suitcase table, and Judy has some great ideas for personalising it to inspire you. Remember that you can always call us if you have anything (like an old suitcase) that you know could be turned into something awesome when you have the time to work on it - we can keep your belongings safe, clean and dry until you're ready to get to work!
We have 120 storage facilities nationwide so there is bound to be one near you
