“On a typical day in Safestore I will support the Manager in running the store and making sure we get all of our daily tasks completed. This can range from dealing with customer enquiries, accepting deliveries, carrying out maintenance to coaching and running through our numbers.
No two days are ever the same as you never know who or what may come through the door, which means you have to think on your feet and overcome any obstacle you may be faced with. When dealing with customers you treat each one as an individual in order to give them a tailored solution for their needs which is a good challenge.
The company has targets and each store and individuals have targets to work towards. Part of the daily routine is to check how you are doing against target and what you need to do to ensure you get to them by month end. This helps you better understand how you are performing and where you can improve in order to grow within your role.
As a Sales Consultant you will plan in time to work towards completing each section of your development journey along with your normal daily tasks, which ensures that you are learning the necessary skills to work towards becoming a Store Manager.”
