7 day access to your storage
We have over
129 self storage facilities across the UK and at all of our sites, you can have access to your self storage unit 7 days a week during our usual opening hours.
Secure access self storage
Our sites are covered by 24 hour recorded CCTV; they are also fitted with intruder alarms and sprinkler systems – your belongings will be completely safe with us.
You will be the only keyholder for your unit and so your belongings will be kept secure and private; access to our sites is strictly controlled and monitored by 24 hour CCTV so that you can be confident that the only person who will access your unit is you. If it would be more convenient for you to allow your staff, family or friends to access the contents of your unit, you could opt to use a combination padlock so that they can do so without needing to share a key.
Our receptions are staffed during opening hours, providing added security and peace of mind and making it easy for you to find help to access your self storage unit if needed. Our
friendly reception team will even accept deliveries for you and keep them safe until you can come and collect them or store them in your unit.
Help to access self storage
As sole key-holder you can access your self storage at any time during opening hours, 7 days a week. However, if you lose your key, all is not lost – our friendly staff will be able to help you to access your belongings.
Need a forklift or pallet truck to move your belongings into or out of storage? Need packaging, boxes or bubble wrap? We’re here to help. We provide trolleys free of charge to our customers, and we even have trained staff who will be happy to load or unload your belongings with our forklifts or pallet trucks.
We can also provide access to DHL’s fast and reliable worldwide delivery service, available at all of our stores. If you need to use this service, all packaging and tracking is included in the price.
Site access
The majority of our facilities are conveniently located close to motorways and so are easy to find and access via road. Many of our sites offer free onsite parking for customers, whilst others offer parking spaces for rent at very reasonable prices.
If you have a lot of belongings to load or unload, many of our stores have drive-up units – our loading bays make accessing your self storage unit easier, especially in bad weather!
Access to self storage for customers with a disability
If you have a
disability and need additional assistance to access your self storage unit, our staff will be happy to assist. Our sites are all accessible by wheelchair and have disabled toilets available for our customers. Every Safestore store has allocated disabled parking with ample space to allow you to load or unload a wheelchair, and these are located as close to the entrance as possible.
The corridors are wide (1200mm+) and usually concreted to allow smooth access. Most of the doors to the self storage units are wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair (900mm+) but not all are, so please advise us if you need a unit with a wider door and we will do our best to organise that for you. Similarly, if you would have difficulty accessing storage on an upper floor, please tell us and we will try to find you a ground-floor storage unit if there is one available, or you may choose to use our lifts, which are wide enough for wheelchair access.
