Wrap Up 2025: Donate a Coat at Your Local Safestore

Two Safestore employees collecting donated coats for Wrap Up 2025 coat drive

We’re proud to be supporting HandsOn London’s Wrap Up 2025 campaign for the 14th year running!

Every winter, thousands of people across the UK face the cold without a warm coat. Wrap Up helps change that — by collecting unwanted coats and redistributing them to those who need them most through a network of local charities and community organisations.

Last year, over 15,600 coats were collected and given new homes, helping more than 90 charities across the UK. Since the campaign began in 2011, almost a quarter of a million coats have been donated — and you can help make 2025 even bigger!

How You Can Help

It’s simple — just donate a coat you no longer wear. We’re accepting clean, warm coats in good condition for men, women, and children.

Drop your coats off at participating Safestore centres across the UK between October and December (dates vary by region — see below).

Once collected, volunteers sort and prepare coats for redistribution to charities that support:

  • Homeless individuals
  • Refugees and asylum seekers
  • The elderly
  • Women and children fleeing domestic abuse
  • Families and young people living in poverty

Your coat could do more than just keep someone warm — it could help connect them with the charities and services that offer ongoing support throughout the year.

About Wrap Up

Wrap Up is powered by volunteers and supported by partners including Safestore, Human Appeal, and the Rotary Club. After the collection period, donated coats are sorted and distributed to charities that provide frontline support to people in need.

Thanks to your generosity, each coat helps someone stay warm this winter — and can be the start of a longer journey toward safety and support.
