When a van makes sense
A van is usually the easiest option if:
- your belongings won't fit in a car, such as furniture, appliances or lots of boxes
- you want to move everything in one trip rather than several
- you only need transport for a day, so a full removal firm would be more than you need
- you're moving out and need to bring items home or to a new address
Which size van do I need?
This is a typical guide to help you plan. Unit sizes vary between stores, and sometimes between units in the same store, so use it as a starting point rather than a guarantee. Most people don't pack a van or a unit perfectly, so if you're between sizes, choose the larger van.

Europcar groups its vans by load space: small vans for loads under 3 cubic metres, medium vans from 6 to 12 cubic metres, and large vans from 14 to 20 cubic metres. Exact vehicles and sizes vary by branch.

How to book
- Start from the Europcar offer page. Go to our Europcar page. Booking from there means the Safestore rate is applied to the prices you see.
- Choose your pick-up location and dates. Enter where and when you want the van.
- Select your van. Pick a size that suits your move.
- Collect, load and bring it to your store. Remember to return the van as agreed with Europcar.
Tips for a smoother move
- Book early at busy times. Weekends, month-end and summer are popular for moves.
- Check your store's access hours so your van arrives when you can get in.
- Pack and label boxes beforehand so loading and unloading is quick.
- Unloading is easier at our stores. We have trolleys, loading bays, free parking and lifts, and some stores have covered loading areas. Facilities vary by store, so check your store's page before you go.

Where do I collect the van?
You choose a Europcar location when you book. To find the nearest branch to your Safestore store, enter your store's postcode or address as the pick-up location. You'll find your store's address on its page, which you can reach with our store finder. You can also use Europcar's branch finder to see opening hours and locations.
