On a Variable contract, you can store for as little as one day, though the minimum invoice period is one week, so you will be charged for a full week regardless of how many days you use the unit.

If your plans change and you want to stay longer, you can usually continue storing, subject to unit availability. If you are ready to leave before the month is up, you can do so without giving notice on a Variable contract, though the minimum invoice period is one week.
What is the minimum rental period for short-term storage?
The minimum invoice period at Safestore is one week. On a Variable contract, there is no long-term commitment, so you can move in or out at a time that suits you. On a Flexible contract, the minimum stay is 14 days.

Can I cancel my storage unit at short notice?
Yes. On a Variable contract, there is no notice period, which means you can let your local store team know you want to move out and leave at a time that suits you. On a Flexible contract, 14 days notice is required before you move out.
How quickly can I move into a short-term storage unit?
In most cases, you can move into a Safestore unit the same day you book. You can reserve your unit online, over the phone, or in store. Once you have booked, simply bring your belongings to the store during opening hours. If you are in a hurry, call your local store before you arrive so the team can prepare your storage unit.
