Here at Safestore we know that not everyone has or needs a car, but when it comes to moving all your belongings into storage they can come in handy. So if you don’t have a car you still have a variety of transport options open to you, depending on your priorities and preferences. Read on to find out more.

Public Transport
Public transport can be a good option especially if you are well located for bus stops, don’t have a great deal to store and don’t have to carry anything too far. Consider buying a day pass and using the bus several times to get to and from your local Safestore. This way you can store all your things without a huge expense.

Taxi
If a bus or train is out of the question - perhaps you have too much to carry yourself, you don’t know how to drive or you’re in an awkward location - then a taxi may be the next best thing. Depending on how much you have to store, a taxi will happily take you to a Safestore storage facility along with all your belongings, provided that they fit comfortably in the vehicle. This option may work out more expensive than public transport, but it is much more convenient and you will be able to take everything in one go.

Hire a van
Hiring a van may be the ideal solution for those with a driver’s licence but without an actual vehicle and with quite a lot to store. This option gives you the freedom to store as much as you like, whenever you like, in as many trips as you like, without the restrictions of public transport or taxis.

At Safestore, we understand the needs of those without a car, so we have teamed up with Europcar. Simply call 0871 384 9900 and quote 'Safestore 538 26 106’.

You can choose from a variety van sizes, starting from Renault Kangoos at 3m² (35 sq ft) to Transit Luton Tail/Lift at 7m² (75 sq ft). So whether you’re storing one room or a whole house, there’s sure to be a van to fit your needs with Europcar.

Van hire includes:
  • Up to 300 miles per day
  • Collision damage waiver included – insurance excess £800.00
  • Full AA cover
There are, however, a few caveats. All rental agreements are subject to:
  • A full, current driving licence (photo card and paper counterpart) held for a minimum of two years
  • Driver minimum age 25 years
  • Two forms of ID showing current address
  • Credit card / debit card security deposit of £250. If debit card - refunds take 10 days to process
Please speak to Europcar for full terms and conditions.

Hire a man with a van
If you don’t have a driver’s licence but have a lot to store, then consider hiring a man with a van. Removal services are perfect for those without a licence or those who aren’t comfortable driving a van by themselves. Safestore centres will usually have local removal services that they recommend, so if this seems like the perfect option for you, then talk to your local Safestore team

Whichever you choose, make sure that you get the best deal with Safestore.
