Where to store luggage in London?

1. Some hotels will agree to store your left luggage for the day after you’ve checked out, but you may feel uncomfortable leaving unlocked bags with the concierge as there is minimal supervision of the left luggage room.
2. There are excess baggage storage facilities at the major railway stations and airports in London but these tend to be the more expensive option.
3. A cheaper, more flexible alternative is to store your left luggage with at a storage company.

If you’re travelling from London Euston, we have luggage storage available at our Euston-Camden store — just 9 minutes’ taxi journey or 12 minutes’ walk away from Euston train station.

How much space do I need for left luggage?

Many of our stores offer storage lockers of 10 sq ft, which can easily accommodate 2 to 3 standard-sized suitcases. Our 16 sq ft lockers can hold 6 to 7 standard-sized suitcases, ideal for larger groups.

Alternatively, we may recommend storing your items in a shared unit if they are particularly large (for example, if you need to store skis) as this may work out cheaper for you than hiring a larger unit. All of our shared areas are secure — nobody is able to access them without a staff member being present.

We also offer cage or pallet storage, where your items can be shrink-wrapped to keep them secure, clean and dry for when you need them.

Compare this with left luggage prices at major airports and railway stations and you’ll see what good value that really is.

For instance, at Gatwick and Heathrow Airport, and at most of the major railway stations listed above, they currently charge £7.50 for each item of left luggage for up to 3 hours, and £12.50 per item for up to 24 hours.

Our storage units can hold as many items as you need for a fixed price, so are far better value for money.

We don’t pass your belongings to any third parties like some other storage companies do, and you’ll be the only key holder for the lock to your own, private storage unit for as long as you need it.

Convenient, secure left luggage storage

As well as offering very low prices, Safestore luggage storage represents excellent value for money. All of our facilities are protected by CCTV and intruder alarms. Offer staffed receptions during opening hours and are clean and dry.

We do not charge a reservation fee and no security deposit is required. Simply book online or give us a call when you need to store your luggage and reserve a unit or space in a shared unit for free.

You don’t need to provide a utility bill as proof of ID with us — we know that if you’re travelling you’re unlikely to have these to hand. Instead, you can show us your travel documents.

Unless you opt to use a shared storage area, your items will be kept in a locked unit to which you will hold the only key - we ask that you provide your own padlock or purchase one of ours (at a cost of £12.50) to secure your unit.

We are very open with our pricing structure and have no hidden extras. We do recognise, though, that there are some extras that our customers want, and we offer these at reasonable cost upon request.
