11 of the Coolest Cardboard Sculptures

You won’t believe what you can make with Cardboard!

As a self storage company we have an affinity with cardboard boxes as they’re a huge part of our everyday operations.  Cardboard boxes and Self Storage really do go hand in hand, from packing up your home, relocating your business, storing your personal belongings whilst you go travelling, everyone is going to need boxes, and you’d struggle to find one of our customers who have not used cardboard boxes at some point during their stay with us.  Yes, we do sell boxes but this is not what this post is about.

We all know that kids have a fascination with cardboard boxes and so do cats really.  But boxes have the magic ability to ignite kid’s imaginations.  Every parent, grandparent or carer have experienced that frustration after spending hours and money selecting your child’s perfect Birthday or Christmas Gifts, to only watch them tear into the gift with Olympic speed, mumble a quick thank you, set it aside and proceed to spend hours with the box and packaging; building an Indy Car, a Space Rocket to launch into space, an impregnable Fort, or an scrumptious Ice-Shop.   The bigger the box the better, the ones that White Goods come in are the best as you can climb right inside!

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” Pablo Picasso

Scholars and Educationalists debate at what age we start to lose our ability to be creative and our vivid imagination, why it happens and what we can do to stop it.

Unfortunately, we do lose some of our playful curiosity and imagination as we mature. (via Ideas to Go)

This doesn’t happen to everyone though.  We recently came across a group of rather innovative adults, who’ve managed to maintain these attributes and armed with only cardboard, glue, a craft knife, a steady hand and an unlimited imagination they’ve created these awe inspiring Cardboard Sculptures.
